God Wink

“God Wink”, have you ever had such an experience?   For me it happened during the Women’s Inspired Conference 2023.   I did not register or plan to go to this conference.  God had other plans.  I ended up on the guest list!

It was Cinco de Mayo in Ohio.  Having lived on the west cost for many years, celebrating this event is on my radar.  I contemplated about going to Condado’s, a Latino restaurant.  Served are very delicious chips and salsa.  Just thinking about the combo, causes my mouth to salivate.

I procrastinated.   Called hubby at the last minute wanting to make the half price happy hour.  He got home around 5:15pm.  I was at the door when he arrived and jumped in the Nissan Ultima.  We started the drive to Easton.  The GPS provided a wacky route putting us off course, and we lost more than 10 minutes.   We missed the happy hour but was committed to eating salsa.  We arrived at Condado’s, it was very crowded. The hostess said the wait would be 30-minutes or longer.   I spied 2 empty stools at the bar.  Seats at the bar were first come first serviced.  We took those seats.

As the bartender handed out menus, a pretty woman sitting on the stool to my left gave us a cheery hello.  She was alone. I’m friendly enough, so I responded.  After a few more comments about the good food, I introduced myself and my husband.

She was from the Atlanta and was in Columbus to speak at a church in Canal Winchester.  Immediately, I reached in my purse and pulled out the card announcing the Inspired Women’s Conference sponsored by the X Church.  This is the church we currently attend.  Surprise, she was the guest speaker for the conference!

As we talked, we both had challenges getting to the restaurant.  And other “coincidences” that led us to meet at that specific place and time.

Toni Collier, is a minister of the Gospel of Christ. She is in the field of social work and mental health.  My husband also works in health services with a focus on mental health and drug addiction.  Our conversations were inspired, like group therapy while praising the Lord. She invited me to the conference as her special guest.  Yes, I went.  Yes, I was BLESSED!!
